Welcome to Recharge 2008

Held at the Mt Tamborine Convention Centre, Beacon Road, Mt Tamborine.
Recharge Youth and Young Adult Convention is a weekend retreat for young adults held at the Mount Tamborine Convention Centre every September.  It exists to inspire young people in their daily walk with God to be salt and light; no matter what they are doing or where they are in the world. The weekend program offers Christ-centred bible teaching, practical and relevant elective workshops, contemporary praise and worship, and other activities that encourage unity among young people. Recharge is aimed at those aged 16 and over.

The main speaker this year is Tim Hein. Andrew Sercombe returns with his team of musicians to lead the main sessions.  Quality elective speakers will address a wide range of practical issues again this year. Live entertainment will feature at the Recharge Café and heaps of books, music and other material will be available at the bookshop. Stay tuned for more details about the social event on Friday night.  It will feature music from “The Smashing Bumpkins” and great prizes will be on offer. Then there’s always footy finals on the big screen, a jumping castle, The Pinnacle (Higher Ground’s climbing wall), sport and lots more.  Or if you’d like, you can kick back, relax and do your own thing!

Recharge 2007 wrap -up

Recharge 2007 Youth and Young Adult Convention was fantastic. Keynote speaker Rob Coyle helped deepen our approach to walking in Christ through a series of challenging messages based on Psalm 16; Andrew Sercombe and the worship team inspired heartfelt praise; and the elective sessions delved into a broad range of topics to address the needs and interests of many who attended.

Want to use your powers for good instead of evil? Recharge needs a Web Designer.

Roles:

1. member of Recharge Committee
2. take the design concept (created by graphic designer) and translate it to a html website format.
3. site maintenance and monthly updates
4. member of promotional sub-committee for recharge

Skills Required:

• template creation using dreamweaver or joomla
• photo editing and design creation using photoshop
• need to convert photoshop design to dreamweaver by slicing and optimising images for web
• basic php experience and javascript is preferable
