About Us

The Recharge Youth and Young Adult Convention is a not-for-profit organisation that operates on behalf of the Mount Tamborine Convention Council. The Recharge Committee consists of people from various church backgrounds who have a passion to contribute to the organisation and growth of this weekend convention.

Theology

What does Recharge believe?

• We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
• That man in his current condition is dead in sin, that only by Christ's sacrificial death, not works, can a person be set free and receive eternal life.
• A person who receives Christ as Savior comes into a relationship with God and relies on the indwelling Holy Spirit for guidance, power and authority.
• That God has a unique and important purpose for every person, and that a Christian will grow in Christ resulting in a personal testimony to this world.
• The bible is the final authority, and every word contained in it is inspired by God.

Purpose

The Recharge Youth and Young Adult Convention began in 2003 in response to a vision by a small group of people who desired to see solid and practical ministry offered to youth and young adults. We live in a Christian culture that has plenty of activities to keep a young person's attention, and that is great! However, in many cases this often lacks the teaching and training needed to instill a passion for serving God that is focused, missional, motivated and purposeful.

If you are between 16 and 30 you may be wondering what God wants to do with your life or you may desire a weekend away from the hustle and bustle to hear God’s word faithfully taught. Recharge is committed to providing the best teaching and training to encourage you into a deeper relationship with Christ, and to understand the passion and missional purpose he has for your live!

The primary aims and objectives of Recharge are to:

• Inspire and motivate young people in their daily walk with God to be ‘salt and light’ no matter what they are doing or where they are in the world.
• Provide:
       - Christ-centred bible teaching
       - Practical and relevant elective workshops,
       - Contemporary praise and worship
       - and other activities that encourage unity among young people

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

How to get to Recharge

So you're heading to Recharge 2008 and need to know how to get there?

The Recharge is held at the Mount Tamborine Convention Centre at 237 Beacon Road, North Tamborine.  North Tamborine is in the Gold Coast Hinterland. 

The main entrance, and access to the camping grounds is off Beacon Road.  The accommodation centres are located off Keswick Road.

• Head south down the Pacific Mwy and take the Mt Tamborine/ Oxenford exit, exit 57, approximately 2km passed Dreamworld. Follow Mt Tamborine-Oxenford Road to the top of the mountain. Use the following Maps below to get to Beacon Road.
